Doodle Art Club
Children choose their own colours and art mediums, and then work on their own designs at a pace which suits them. They are given a pack of printed patterns they can use to learn from. All the designs are different and no two pieces of work are the same. The intricacy and attention to detail of the work is the ‘wow’ factor! Children can have their art work framed if they wish. Because the club is based in the library they have access to art books and they learn about the great masters of art. For example, they can re-create the design of ‘Starry Night’ by Vincent Van Gogh. Children are asked to share and think about a favourite line from a song. They are then asked to write it in as many different font styles as they can. They share their experiences with each other in a friendly and fun atmosphere. As their confidence develops they make new friends and this has a positive impact on their school life. Doodle Art teaches and introduces children to different art forms, develop their imagination and creativity. To think about different shapes, patterns colour and form so they can create unique individual pieces of art.
