Discovery Day – Brilliant Birds
Dates: 17 and 18th February 2016 Times: 11am – 3pm Free of charge. Suitable for the whole family! Booking not necessary. Drop in any time between 11am and 3pm to take park in a host of exciting activities, uncovering and discovering the magic of nature. Free activities include: • Making a bird feeder • Following the Bird Discovery Trail discovering facts about our feathered friends • Bird watching in the centre's grounds • Painting a bird picture and using crafts to create your own crazy new species! There will also be the opportunity to build a wooden bird box to take home with you. Discovery Day: Hedgehog Heroes
1 & 2 June 2016: 11am – 3pm Free of charge. Suitable for the whole family! Booking not necessary – just drop in. Drop in any time between 11am and 3pm for a day of hedgehog themed activities including: • Craft a hedgehog from a paper plate or colour your own hedgehog picture to take home • Try out some of the scientific equipment we use to survey hedgehogs as we study them in the Royal Parks • Follow our Discovery Trail, uncovering prickly facts about our spiny friends • Become a hedgehog architect and design a hedgehog friendly habitat, then make your own clay hedgehog to live in it (£2 suggested donation) • Discover what you can do to help hedgehogs in your garden

Discovery Days - Isis Education Centre
Every Wednesday during school holidays the whole family can take part in themed activities focussing on different aspects of nature. Activities range from pond dipping to following a bee trail and always include some arts and crafts. Discovery days are aimed at 4-10 yrs but are open to all ages. Please drop in between 11am and 3pm, activities take from 20 mins to an hour.

Nature Explorers - Children
Tuesday 2 & 23 August 2016: 10.00am – 3.00pm. £15. Book online now to avoid disappointment Looking for somewhere that will give your 8 – 11 year old an active, fun, outdoor experience during the holidays? Drop them off at our Education Centre in the heart of Hyde Park for a full day of guided outdoor games and activities. Each day is themed, from exploring the park with all of your senses to bug hunting, beetle tracking and peeping under the surface of the sunshine pond to find out who lives under the water lilies. Nature Explorers – Wild Photography
27 October 2015: 10am – 3pm £15. Suitable for 8 to 11 year olds Book online now to avoid disappointment Ensure your 8 - 11 year old has a happy half term by dropping them off at the Isis Education Centre for a fun filled (and educational!) day of nature inspired games and activities. Activities include: • Using photography and sound recording equipment to document wildlife activities. • Learning how to storyboard a film and learning about angles, focus and using a tripod. • Using digital microphones to record some sounds of nature and interviewing your friends for fun! • Exploring the park’s wilder spots and having a go at editing your photographs to take home on a memory stick. Please note: The maximum size of the group is 16 children (so book today to secure a place). Nature Explorers: Hedges & Hedgerows
Tuesday 31 May 2016: 10am – 3pm £15. Suitable for 8 to 11 year olds Activities include: • Become a hedgehog architect! Discover what makes a good hedgehog habitat, then put this knowledge into practice in the gardens of our Education Centre • Follow our nature trail to uncover prickly facts about the nations favourite little mammal • Try out some of the scientific equipment we use to survey hedgehogs as we study them in the Royal Parks • Get crafty in our discovery rooms, fashioning hedgehogs out of paper plates • Explore the wilder parts of the park and picnic outside (if it’s sunny!) - visit Kensington Gardens allotment to meet the resident chickens • Discover mini-beasts in a meadow sweep-netting session • Be awarded a 'Nature Explorers Club' badge and passport - every time your they visit our Education Centre they will get a brand new stamp!

Sunset Safari
Thursday 18 & 25 August 2016: 7.30pm – 9.30pm. £12. Book online now to avoid disappointment Get the family wrapped up and join us around the campfire in our private gardens in the heart of Hyde Park. Fuel yourself with a delicious campfire snack whilst learning fascinating facts about the nocturnal wildlife that call Hyde Park home. Once the sun has set head out into the Park on an evening safari led by our resident bat expert. You'll use bat detectors to listen into their secret calls and learn how to identify which species are flying above. Walking Tours - Bat Walk

Book online now to avoid disappointment Using a bat detector, which makes bat's echo-location calls audible to the human ear, you'll discover and see the different bat species which make Hyde Park their home. Guided by our resident expert you'll learn all about the fascinating world of bats - separating bat fact from bat fiction! Walking Tours - Peter Pan
Friday 5 & 12 August 2016: 11.00am – 12.30pm. £5. Book online now to avoid disappointment Follow in Peter Pan's footsteps and experience the magic that inspired J.M. Barrie to write the Peter Pan plays and stories. Find out how Peter made his perilous journey from Bird Island in the Serpentine to the magical shores of the Long Water - you can even have a go at crafting your own miniature clay vessel. There'll be plenty of surprising and magical activities to delight you as you walk!
