Making music in an Ensemble
The Norfolk Music Service offers a wide range of weekly ensembles ranging from beginner to advanced level, promoting progression. Students have the opportunity to play a varied repertoire of music and perform in small and large scale events across the county. Opportunities for section leadership, D of E volunteering and work experience are also available. Playing in an ensemble is an important part of learning to play a musical instrument and is often the most enjoyable and socially rewarding part of the process. Pupils working in ensembles will develop their listening and aural skills, enhance their play ability, work as a team, practice music to a high standard, and perform regularly in events such as the County Music Festival. Performance opportunities helps students gain confidence and a sense of achievement and develop emotionally.
