Fiercest Light
Fiercest light builds on the legacy of Fierce Light, a major national co-commission form 14-18 NOW, Norfolk & Norwich Festival and Writers' Centre Norwich which premiered at eh Festival in May 2016, uniting contemporary writers, artists and filmmakers with the legacy ofWW1 and its heritage in the 21st century. Fiercest Light encourages new and under-represented voices to draw inspiration from the heritage of WW1 with a contemporary response. This project for schools and community groups includes a collaborative poetry making workshop from Writers' Centre Norwich, followed by BBC Voices workshops teaching participants how to transform the words into film. The films created from this project will culminate on 11 November 2016 with a screening event at Cinema City, Norwich, with each community and school group's response presented, creating an environment for learning from other perspectives and continuing the dialogue surrounding 14-18-NOW's centenary legacy project. Although this event is free advanced booking in required to guarantee spaces.
