Phoenix Farm & Learning Zone
Phoenix High School Farm and Learning Zone is an exciting project where the school and local community are able to try their hand at soil preparation, plant growing and harvesting. In conjunction with our Food Technology area and the school kitchens, children, young people, parents, adults and community volunteers are able to cook and taste the harvested food. In addition to this, all faculties can experience the outdoors with our external Learning Zone which has seating and working surfaces for 32 students and this is all Wi-Fi enabled. All this happens within 150 years of the A40, one of London’s busiest arteries. The Farm consists of accessible walkways, accessible planting beds, beds for community groups and beds for children's and young people's nurture groups. We also have rabbits (constantly increasing in numbers) and chickens, which are very popular as few local children have pets in their household..
