Playing for Success Programme
Study@BWFC is a purpose built learning zone based at the Reebok Stadium, we have two computer suites and sessions are led by qualified teachers with experienced support staff and Peer Tutors. Our aims are to raise achievement in literacy, numeracy and ICT through fun learning activities set in an inspiring, relaxed and informal environment. The emphasis is on fun, active learning to improve your Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills. You will set your own ‘GOALS’ and have choice in the things you do. Activities are varied and include a choice of: digital media and design, robot building, music creation, computer game design and animation, to name just a few! There is an emphasis on team-building and leadership skills development too. We do not play football but there are opportunities throughout the course to find out more about BWFC and to explore the stadium. Each course ends with a Celebration Evening to which your family, friends and BWFC players are invited! • Have fun learning and try new things. • Develop your leadership and team skills • Become a more confident learner • Develop new ICT skills. • Improve and practice Maths and English skills. Playing for Success sessions take place after school, on one evening each week for 10 weeks. There are no sessions during school holidays. The first session (usually for primary schools) runs from 3.30-5.30pm and the second session (usually for secondary schools) runs from 5.00-7.00pm. The centre provides a drink and a biscuit or fruit for everyone at the start of each session.
