Sherlock Bone Science Workshops - Rotherham
These workshops and hourly sessions are designed to enhance the biological element of forensic science, aim to to practice skills of observation and deduction to ‘solve’ crimes. There are associated writing and creative tasks which will enhance student’s interest in science as well as broaden their career horizons. All courses are taught as both classroom teaching and hands-on practical sessions designed to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1 & 2, 3 and 4. Students are required to use a scientific approach to answer the problem of solving a crime which has been committed using their new knowledge and skills. Activities include working on a staged crime scene, identifying the real human skeleton, blood, fingerprints, shoeprints, bugs and insects, using microscopes and more. The aim of the activity is to improve skills and knowledge of anatomy and scientific investigation.
