Family Sport activities - Sportsfest
Introducing families and children to a variety of sports and physical activities that are not usually incorporated into their school PE curriculum. There are a range of activities offered as part of the Sportsfest Family Day. Activities include: Netball, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Badminton, SMILE events, Trampoline, Boccia. Street Dancing, Nordic walking, Blind fold football, Dodge ball, Cardio kick, Judo and Baseball. This event will take place on 18th April Children will need to have completed 2 activities to achieve 1 x stamp

Judo
Ideal form of a full strength and fitness training for both girls and boys. - Improves and develops physical coordination - Develops discipline, concentration and focus Ideal activity for girls and boys of all ages and size making it ideal for weight management programmes for children. Emphasis on self-control, respect to others and sportsmanlike behaviour. Ideal form of self-defence. Channels energy and misbehaviour issues into a positive and competitive environment with a clear grading system to provide structure, focus and a pathway. - Builds confidence - Can be taken part in a non-competitive setting

SPORTFEST - Primary Day (Years 3 & 4) Key Stage 2
12th April 2016 During the day activities will include: 1. Communication and Leadership through Functional Movements The aim of the session is for the children to learn the basic progression of two functional movements and some games that help develop these movements. They will then teach them to their peers and/or family members. Ultimately they will develop their leadership and communication skills. By completing follow up activities: All will be able to organise a small group to participate in games. 2. Fitness and Maths The aim of the session is for the children to undertake a range of basic fitness tests and use the data to calculate average scores and present the data in basic graphical form. Extension Activity: Complete the worksheet provided creating a chart from collated data, identifying highest, lowest and median score. Calculate differences between these as well as a mean (average) of all scores. 3. Dance and Physical Activity Activities to be completed after event include Dungeons and Dragons physical activity.

Swin Academy
The purpose of this activity is to teach children how to swim, or help them to progress their level of swimming. it will increase the child's confidence both personally and in the water, and help with communication and social skills. Children will participate in a progressive learn to swim programme that is challenging, fun and rewarding. Lessons will cost £3.70 and are paid for in blocks of ten. Registered children can use the pool free of charge during public swimming sessions for practice and showing family what they've learnt. As part of the academy each child receives a colourful 16 page success tracker completely free of charge. The success tracker gives parents and children the opportunity to record progress through the many exciting awards children will receive whilst on their aquatic journey.
