Weekend and holiday family activities
Activities range with the seasons but the general purpose is to offer children and their families opportunities to learn about wetlands, wildfowl and nature in general through hands-on, experiential learning activities such as pond-dipping, bug-hunting, bird-watching, crafts using natural materials, interactive shows about wildlife etc. The objective is to foster a sense of wonder and respect for nature and to allow children to learn through direct experience and enquiry-based activities. All activities are led and supervised by at least one member of Learning staff and often additional Learning staff or volunteers.
