Welcome to York CU!
Children's University is all about engaging children in fun, quality and innovative experiences that capture their imagination and inspire dreams for the future!
Whether that's by participating in one of our in-school themed modules, visiting a CU Learning Destination on a weekend or trying out one of our new family workshops from CU in the City - there's something for everyone.
The CU passport logs children's activities and provides awards at each stage of the journey. Children are invited to collect their first award at a special Graduation ceremony at the University of York, as well as receiving future awards at an annual Summer Festival to recognise their achievements.

Graduation March 2016
This March we welcomed over 125 children to the University of York for a special graduation ceremony to recognise their achievements from this year. Children had collected between 30 and 530 hours in their Passports, taking part in extra-curricular activities ranging from judo lessons, dance classes to museum activities.
We kicked off the celebration with a fantastic musical theatre performance from Razzamataz York, as well as hearing from Elizabeth Wright, Paralymic champion, author and motivational speaker, who shared her inspirational story of reaching her goals. She said: "When I was asked to be the guest speaker at the York Children's University Graduation Ceremony I could only say yes! To see the amazing work they do with children, to help build their confidence and vision for their futures, it resonates with my own goals to help children see and fulfil their potential."

CU in the City: November 2015
This November we held six fun, free family evening events across York. From superheroes to mini-beasts, from electric science to tansy beetles, there was something for everyone to enjoy with CU in the City!
Highlights included an optical illusions lecture with the University of York's Department of Physics, where families took part in their own mind-boggling experiments using special goggles! We also got our green fingers out at 'It's a Bug's Life!' where Bug Life helped families to create their own bug homes.
We are now looking forward to our next series coming up in June 2016!
