Devon and Cornwall Children’s University

Devon and Cornwall Children’s University has been managed by the University of Plymouth since 2012. Since then it has grown to include over 130 primary schools in Devon and Cornwall, along with a small but growing number of secondary schools. It is now working with Somerset Council to set up Children’s University in primary schools in Somerset.

Through the University of Plymouth, and its excellent facilities, Devon and Cornwall Children’s University offers a series of exciting workshops on campus. These include Maths with Bubbles, Literacy Workshops with local authors, Robotics workshops, natural history and science through LabPlus, Music presentations with a concert pianist, Geology, Art in Nature and many more.

We also have numerous Learning Destinations spread across the 3 counties and these include the National Marine Aquarium and the Eden Project.

We have Home Education groups in Cornwall and Devon to support their children to access Children’s University and benefit from the range of Children’s University activities available.

We believe in Children’s University as a means of offering additional and extra-curricular activities to all children, irrespective of their backgrounds, to build and equip them with lifelong skills and confidence.
